We have more than 30 years experience with vacuum technology.
For vibrocompacting under vacuum, the anode mould is provided with a special hood, which is evacuated before and during vibrocompacting. Under optimum conditions 20 mbar absolut pressure is achieved. The vacuum during vibrocompacting is generated by a sturdy liquid ring pump using water from the anode cooling circuit as seal water.
Benefits:
- Forming under relatively high paste temperatures
- Increase of apparent block density
- Tight dimensional tolerances of anodes
- Capture of pitch fumes during vibrocompacting
- Reduction of pitch content in the paste
- No need for intermediate paste cooling after paste mixing
