The TROF converter takes care of the smelting, reduction and refining steps in the same furnace, which saves energy when compared to conventional furnace. The compact TROF unit has the lid fastened to converter and the heat flow outside the converter is thus minimized. Off-gases are led in a controlled way from the TROF into bag filter.
